Steve Evans believes that Massimo Cellino saved Leeds from disaster off the pitch when he took a controlling stake in April last year.
The Italian has become a controversial figure at Elland Road and in English football, having run-ins with the Football League – he is currently fighting a second ban – and regularly working his way through head coaches.
Cellino has been linked with selling his shareholding and did recently agree in principle to sell to supporter group Leeds Fans United, but he then U-turned.
Evans says he regularly talks with Cellino, but has told the Italian he only wants to speak about on the pitch matters.
"I see the president most days, certainly three or four days a week, or two or three evenings, and all we talk about is players – I've made it clear I don't want to talk about anything off the field", Evans said on Sky Sports News HQ.

The head coach also feels Cellino should receive credit for saving Leeds and pumping money into the club, adding: "But he's very ambitious to win football matches and he's put an incredible amount of money into the football club – that's just a fact.
"And there weren't too many around when he saved Leeds United from collapse and having a total disaster."
On the pitch, having led Leeds to back-to-back Championship wins, Evans is keen to see the momentum of his side maintained in order to give Cellino a problem in the winter transfer window as he looks for the Italian to back him and bring in reinforcements.
"I'm sure he'll step forward. We're working on two or three players we'd like to do now and I want to give him a real problem in January. He knows that. We've had the conversation", the Scot explained.
"To be able to say, help us a little bit more because we can have a run."
