Dele Alli will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of Paul Pogba on the international stage, former England defender Danny Mills believes.
The Tottenham Hotspur youngster started for England against France in a friendly at Wembley this evening and instantly made a mockery of his tender years by shining for the Three Lions.
Alli fired England into the lead in the 39th minute, collecting the ball with a fine tackle in midfield before then receiving the ball back and unleashing a 25-yard shot which flew past France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Mills commented on BBC Radio 5 live after the goal: "What a fantastic goal that is. I was saying before that Alli has everything. He had no right to win that challenge 40 yards from goal.
"He didn't shirk responsibility, slid in and won the ball and then jumped straight up to collect the ball", Mills continued.

"It maybe just clipped [Laurent] Koscielny, but I don’t think Lloris would have saved it. Alli has a fantastic chance between now and the end of the season to seal one of those places in England’s midfield [for Euro 2016]."
And later on in the game the ex-defender expressed his view that Alli would love to develop along the same lines as Pogba, who is classed as one of the game's brightest talents and one of the best midfielders in Europe.
"England are on the back foot at the moment, losing the ball in that midfield area. And it is all down to Pogba. I would love to see him in the heart of any side. Such a talent, with great poise and technique.
"Dele Alli would love to emulate Pogba."
Alli made way in the 88th minute, being replaced by Phil Jones and quickly being declared Man of the Match.
England ran out 2-0 winners, with Wayne Rooney in the 48th minute the scorer of the Three Lions' other goal.
