Leeds United full-back Charlie Taylor feels the players want to play for Steve Evans and the new boss has got them playing as ‘one big team’.

The former Rotherham United boss took charge of the Leeds team last month after Uwe Rosler was sacked and the outspoken Scotsman has so far done reasonably well at Elland Road.

Other than a 2-0 home loss to Blackburn, Leeds have been playing well under the new manager and won their last two league games against Cardiff and Huddersfield, with clean sheets to boast of.

Taylor has been out of action since mid-October due to glandular fever and therefore is yet to play under Evans, but he admits that he can see a change of mood in the Leeds camp since the Scot’s arrival.

The 22-year-old believes Evans has brought passion and commitment to the job and has fired up the players, who are willing to play for their new manager.

Taylor said on BBC Radio Leeds: “I think he has brought passion and got the lads up.

“We got a couple of good results and clean sheets; I think he has got everyone pumped up and firing. The players are wanting to play for him and wanting to win.”

The full-back also believes that the new Leeds boss has managed to get in the heads of his players and has made them play as one big team for the Whites.

“He has got his points across straightaway and it is starting to pay off. Everyone one knows what they are doing now and they are one big team.”

Leeds will take on Evans’ former side Rotherham at Elland Road this Saturday.
