Manchester United have snapped up former Arsenal academy midfielder Darren Raekwon McIntosh-Buffonge, more commonly known as DJ Buffonge.
Buffonge enjoyed a successful trial with the youth team and has signed a scholarship deal with the Red Devils, having previously been at Fulham’s academy.
The former Arsenal prospect started the season in the Manchester United-18s and assisted Zak Dearnley's goal in the opening fixture at West Brom.
However, a groin injury sustained in a 3-2 win over Derby County towards the end of August, cut short his progress; but the Manchester United coaches had seen enough to sign him on a scholarship deal.
According to the club’s official website, the 17-year-old creative midfielder signed the contract with the Red Devils on 13th November and is expected to feature prominently for Paul McGuinness’ Under-18 side once he recovers from his injury.
