New Rotherham United signing Leon Best is hoping manager Neil Redfearn gives him the vote to take on Leeds United tomorrow.

Redfearn has drafted Best in at Rotherham and the striker could well make his debut at Elland Road tomorrow in a Yorkshire derby.

Best impressed Redfearn on a trial and was subsequently signed permanently. And the striker would love to be given the chance to play against Leeds, feeling the game is one which will get the blood pumping.

"I’ve been involved in a lot of derbies in my career and they’re the best games", he told his club's site, referring to the Leeds clash.

"The adrenaline is pumping and it means that little bit more for the fans", the striker continued.

"If the manager thinks that I am fit enough and ready to play straight away then I’m there for him and the team."

Still just 29 years old, Best is hugely experienced and counts Notts County, Southampton, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday, Bournemouth, Yeovil, Coventry, Newcastle, Blackburn, Derby and Brighton amongst his former clubs.

The striker has been capped at international level, appearing for the Republic of Ireland on seven occasions between 2009 and 2010.

He has been handed the number 50 shirt at Rotherham.
