Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan feels his old side lacked pace against Rotherham United on Saturday.
Steve Evans went into the match against his former club aiming to lead Leeds to a third Championship win in a row, but came undone as ex-Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn devised a game plan to beat the Whites at Elland Road.
Rotherham ran out 1-0 winners, as both sides finished the game with ten men, and though Leeds did create several goalscoring opportunities, they were not clinical and paid the price.
For Whelan, Leeds played into Rotherham's hands, while there was also a distinct lack of pace in the Whites team.
He said on BBC Radio Leeds, assessing the game: "It’s such a disappointing result, especially since we had such high hopes.

"They played into Rotherham's hands. They were trying to make the game as ugly as possible and not allow Leeds to get into any flow.
"We allowed it because we didn’t get any flow.
"When we strung passes together we made chances, but we weren’t patient and we weren’t pacy enough."
Leeds have the second worst home record in the Championship this season, with only Rotherham worse on their home ground.
However, when only away games are counted, the Whites are the fifth best team in the division. Evans will be hoping their fine away form continues next weekend when Leeds travel to Loftus Road to play QPR.
