Rangers striker Kenny Miller is confident that his side will score enough goals in upcoming matches if they create the amount of chances that they did against Alloa Athletic.

The Gers were held to a 1-1 draw by the bottom placed club on Saturday, in what was a shock Scottish Championship result.

Mark Warburton’s side created a huge amount of chances in the game, with the Gers managing 24 shots on goal, with nine on target, but still managed to only score a solitary goal through winter deadline day signing Michael O’Halloran.

The Ibrox outfit were wasteful in front of goal and coupled with a heroic display by Alloa goalkeeper Scott Gallacher, helped the bottom placed side earn a point against the league leaders.

Miller has chipped in with 12 goals from 27 appearances this season and has also managed to pick up seven assists.

The 36-year-old insists that it just wasn’t the Gers’ day against Alloa Athletic and expressed his disappointment at dropping two points.

However, Miller is confident that if his side continue to create the chances that they did until the end of the season, then the Gers will be in a comfortable position to earn promotion.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Miller said: “If we create that amount of chances every week, then I would be more than happy with that because we will score goals with that level of chances, but it just never went that way today.

“We are really disappointed with the fact that we have dropped two points here.

“However, if we create that level of chances between now and the end of the season then I will be very happy.”

Warburton’s side travel to Rugby Park for the replay of their Scottish Cup fifth round clash against Kilmarnock tomorrow.
