Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva feels the balance of power in European football has shifted from Chelsea to the Parisians over the last two seasons.
Chelsea defeated the French champions over two legs in the quarter-finals of the Champions League two seasons ago on away goals, but PSG extracted revenge when they did the same to the Blues last term in the round of 16.
However, the fortunes of both clubs couldn’t be more different in the current campaign.
While PSG have a 24-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 and are odds on favourites to win another league title, the defending English champions are languishing in the bottom half of the league table, with uncertainly looming large over their participation in European football next season.
And ahead of another Champions League meeting between both sides tonight, Silva feels the balance of power has shifted towards the French capital, but admits it is still difficult to predict the result of the tie.

The Brazil defender told French daily Le Parisien: “If we remember correctly, two years ago we were eliminated by the same Chelsea.
“Since then, the balance of power seems to have reversed. If you look at the league table in England and France, then PSG are the favourites.
“Unfortunately, in football, it is difficult to predict who will win.”
Chelsea will be hoping to prove Silva wrong when they meet PSG tonight at the Parc des Princes for the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
