Celtic legend Tom Boyd has explained that he has been impressed with the performances of new signing Erik Sviatchenko.
The defender, who played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Ross County at the weekend, has thus far made four appearances in all competitions for the Hoops since joining the club from Danish outfit FC Midtjylland during the January transfer window.
Sviatchenko has already established himself as a key member of Celtic’s defence, with the centre-back also helping to bring consistency to the Hoops’ back four.
And Boyd, who feels consistency at the back is key to winning matches, thinks new boy Sviatchenko “looks the part” as he expects the Denmark international to be a pivotal figure in Celtic’s defence.
“We looked solid at the back [against Ross County in a 2-0 win]”, he said on Celtic TV.

“Erik Sviatchenko has come in and looks the part, helping others around him and trying to get that consistency of selection at the back which we haven’t had for a run of games.
“I think that’s going to start to happen and if we can get that then we can continue to get results.”
Sviatchenko, who progressed through FC Midtjylland’s youth system, amassed 130 appearances for the club, helping them to the Danish league title last season.
The 24-year-old also has four caps and goal for Denmark to his name.
