Kristoffer Ajer is heading to join up with Celtic on a long term deal, with the Bhoys having landed the midfielder.

The Norwegian, who currently plays for Start in his homeland, enjoyed a successful week-long trial at Celtic last month.




Ajer impressed during his trial stint with the Hoops, and as a result the Scottish champions agreed a deal to bring the midfielder to Celtic Park in the summer; the youngster is set to head to Glasgow shortly to thrash out the deatils of the deal.

And the 17-year-old, whose present contract with Start is set to expire in the summer, explained that he was impressed with the facilities on offer at Celtic.
 


Ajer then went on to add that joining Celtic will be a “dream come true” moment for him.

"I was down and looked at the facilities there, and everything was incredibly good”, he told Norwegian broadcaster TV2.

"It's a top club, so this is a boy's dream come true. It is a long term plan that allows me to develop myself. The goal is to get plenty of playing time.

"We are of course outside the transfer window, so I got a wonderful opportunity to be at Start until the summer. I'm glad."

Ajer, who is currently with the Norway Under-19s in Spain, joined Start from Lillestrom in 2014.

The youngster has thus far made 47 appearances in all competitions for Start, scoring 13 times and providing five assists.
