Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink believes Everton would love to extract revenge for their FA Cup final loss in 2009, in this year’s quarter-final clash.

The Blues scored a convincing 5-1 win over a second string Manchester City team at Stamford Bridge, and booked their place in the last eight of the world’s oldest cup competition.

Chelsea will travel to Premier League rivals Everton for the quarter-final clash, and Hiddink is aware that he won the FA Cup by beating the Toffees in the 2009 final, during his last interim stint at Stamford Bridge.

He admits that Everton could be eyeing revenge, but he just wants his side to maintain their momentum in the FA Cup.

The Chelsea boss told the BBC: "It was a long time ago. They are longing for revenge. We hope to maintain the flow we are in the FA Cup."

"Manchester City made changes but that doesn't make it easy because the youngsters that came in were dangerous.

“It was key that we started well in the second half, got an early second and third goal."
