Sol Bamba has insisted that Leeds United want to give the fans something to cheer about by putting in strong performances at Elland Road from now until the end of the season.

The Yorkshire giants, who played out a goalless draw with promotion-chasing Middlesbrough at Elland Road last week, will welcome Fulham to the ground tonight.

Leeds’ hopes of a long FA Cup run were ended by Premier League outfit Watford at the weekend, following the Whites’ 1-0 loss at Vicarage Road.

Steve Evans’ team are also out of the race to finish the season in a playoff spot, with the club currently being in 17th spot in the Championship with 37 points from 31 games, 16 adrift of sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

And Bamba, who admitted that Leeds do not have much to play for this season, however, stated that his side are keen to put a smile on the supporters’ faces by claiming positive results at Elland Road.

“Obviously the home games we want to win for them and for us as well”, the defender said on LUTV, when asked if Leeds want to give something to the fans to smile about this season.

“Obviously there’s not much to play for, but when you win at home is there’s no better feeling for the fans and for us and hopefully we can do that.”

Leeds have lost just once in their last seven league outings at Elland Road, winning three of those.
