Aston Villa are actively looking at signing Gent forward Laurent Depoitre, but believe the asking price for the 27-year-old is too high.
Depoitre has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs on the back of his good performances for the Belgian champions and Gent are not willing to allow him to leave without their asking price being met.
According to Belgian outlet Voetbal Krant, Gent value Depoitre at around the €15m mark, a price tag Aston Villa consider to be too high.
Depoitre will have only a year left on his contract with the Pro League outfit in the summer and is looking to move on from the club.
Whether the forward would be attracted to the idea of dropping into the Championship with Aston Villa remains to be seen, but he does want to test himself in a more competitive league than the Belgian top flight.
