Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will undergo a scan on his knee and ankle in order to determine the severity of the injury he suffered against Barcelona on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old was injured during the early part of the second half of the match and had to be replaced in the 50th minute by Theo Walcott, a match their side lost 2-0 in the end.




There are fears around the Emirates now that the youngster might be out of action for a lengthy period and could well be missing England's international friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands next month.

As far as the domestic fixtures are concerned, manager Arsene Wenger has already confirmed that the 22-year-old will definitely be missing his side's clash against Manchester United this Sunday.
 


The England international, who came through Southampton's youth academy, made his senior debut for the Saints in 2010.

He was snapped up by the Gunners the following year and has since established himself as an important first team player in Wenger's team.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has in fact managed a total of 149 appearances for his side having scored 14 goals and has importantly provided his team-mates with 21 assists.

As far his figures for the 2015/16 season are concerned, Oxlade-Chamberlain has managed a total of 33 appearances thus far, managing two goals along with two assists.
