Michel Vorm is of the opinion that Fiorentina’s playing style will suit Tottenham Hotspur, ahead of his side’s Europa League Round of 32 second leg clash with the Italian team tonight.

Spurs, who were dumped out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Crystal Palace last weekend, drew 1-1 with Fiorentina in the first leg in Florence on 18th February.

Although the tie is evenly posed, Mauricio Pochettino’s team have a slight advantage, owing to their away goal.

And Vorm, who wants Tottenham to learn from their defeat against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, explained that Fiorentina are “not a typical Italian team”, with La Viola more used to playing free-flowing football rather than taking a defensive approach.

The goalkeeper went on to add that Fiorentina’s style of play will suit Tottenham at White Hart Lane as the north London club are eager to qualify to the next round of the Europa League at the expense of the Serie A team.

"We have it in our hands", Vorm told the club’s official site.

"We have to learn from the FA Cup and if we create the number of chances we created against Palace we would normally win, especially playing at home.

"Fiorentina are not a typical Italian team in many ways, they play good football and perhaps that will suit us better.

"We’re back at home and we still have a lot of confidence. On paper, we have a good result in the away leg and now we have to finish it off at home."

After tonight’s game, Tottenham will play Swansea City in a home Premier League game on Sunday.
