Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has provided a squad update ahead of his side's fixture against Brighton in the Championship on Monday evening.

Evans takes his side to the south coast looking to build on Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at home against Fulham, but knowing the Whites are coming up against a team who thumped Bristol City 4-0 in midweek.

The head coach is unsure on whether winger Mustapha Carayol will be fit enough to make the bench, but midfielder Liam Bridcutt is back after missing Tuesday's game due to a funeral.

Asked if Carayol will start by BBC Radio Leeds, Evans said: "Probably not. We may have an opportunity to get Mustapha on the bench on Monday, but he is back in full training today.

"So maybe Monday on the bench, maybe not, but certainly for Saturday week", he added.

And on Bridcutt, Evans revealed: "He is back in today."

The Leeds boss was also asked about striker Chris Wood and how his progress from injury is going.

And while Brighton will come too soon for the New Zealander, there is a possibility he could be fit for Leeds' hosting of Bolton Wanderers the following weekend.

"We're nearly there. I don't think he'll be involved in the squad on Monday. We're looking towards Bolton on Saturday week", Evans explained.
