Leeds United boss Steve Evans insists that his side have to believe that they can go out to the Amex Stadium and get a win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night.

The Whites are in desperate need of points, having managed only one win in their last five league matches, drawing three of them and losing one.

The visit to Brighton won't be that easy for Evans and his team though as their opponents are a side that are placed at the top end of the Championship table fighting for promotion to the Premier League.

Evans though refuses to be pessimistic about his side's chances and insists that his side will not go out there just to defend and thus looking to secure one point, but on the contrary will look for all three points.

“We’ve got to believe we can go there and win – we’re going there to try and win”, Evans said at the pre-match press conference.

“We’re not going to go there and put 11 men behind the ball."

The 53-year-old also took time to speak about the kind of electric atmosphere his side can expect on Monday.

“The Amex is a wonderful stadium and they've got some fantastic supporters – there’ll be a big crowd there on Monday night."
