Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has conceded that his side's defeat to Manchester United has dented their title hopes.

Playing with an inexperienced striker in Marcus Rashford and a central defensive partnership of Michael Carrick and Daley Blind, Manchester United secured a famous 3-2 win over the north Londoners.

Rashford continued his dream start to his senior Manchester United career with another brace in the first half, which took his tally to four goals in two games, and another Ander Herrera goal after the hour mark sealed the points for the Old Trafford outfit.

While Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil’s goals, on either side of half-time, provided hope to Arsenal, they lacked the cutting edge to get something out of Old Trafford eventually.

And Cech admits that the loss is a blow to their title hopes; he indicated that they were not good enough on either side of the pitch to get anything out of the game.

The Arsenal goalkeeper told the BBC: "It is a step back in the title race. We need to make sure we bounce back in the next game. It is a big week for us with Tottenham on Saturday and Swansea in midweek.

"We should have done better, we knew it would be difficult but we did not create enough to score more goals and made mistakes on the other side to concede three.

"We need to make sure every time Leicester and Tottenham slip we are ready to take the advantage."

Arsenal will host Swansea City on Wednesday night, and are currently five points adrift of league leaders Leicester City.
