Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has lauded the ambition his team showed in their 3-2 win over Arsenal.
A much weakened Red Devils side scored a famous win over title contenders Arsenal at Old Trafford, with goals from teenage striking sensation Marcus Rashford, who scored yet another brace, and Ander Herrera.
Despite a weakened line-up due to injuries, Manchester United took the game to the Gunners in front of their home fans, and showed ambition in the first half to put the Arsenal defence under pressure.
Van Gaal admits that their first half performance showed the ambition his team had, and feels it was a risk to play such a high line against a team, who are known for punishing opponents on the counter-attack.
The Manchester United manager told the BBC: "The performance and the result [was pleasing], when you are playing against one of the best Premier League teams and can play with such ambition and performance.
