Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has ruled John Terry out of returning to action against Stoke City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea captain has missed his side’s last four games in all competitions, including a 2-1 Champions League defeat at Paris Saint-Germain, due to a hamstring injury, and has been working hard with the medical team to get back in action.

However, Hiddink has revealed that the defender is still not fit enough to get back into the squad and will again sit out tomorrow’s home Premier League game against Stoke City.

He also added that forward Pedro Rodriguez is still recuperating from an injury, and is still not training with the squad. The Dutchman is optimistic that Terry could return for the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

When asked whether Terry is fit to play tomorrow, Hiddink said in a press conference: “No, he is not fit to start.
