Leeds United head coach Steve Evans admits that his side need to win more games before they can start thinking about next season.

The Whites suffered a sobering 4-0 defeat at the hands of the promotion chasing Brighton on Monday night, and have won just one of their last eleven Championship games.

Currently lying 18th in the league table, Leeds still have a nine-point cushion over the relegation zone, but there are fears that if the club continue on their downward spiral, they might need to start looking over their shoulders soon.

While Evans has talked about building a team good enough to earn promotion next season, he admits that they need to start winning games and getting the points on the board, which would allow them to plan for the 2016/17 Championship campaign.

The Leeds boss said in a press conference: “We need to keep our focus on Bolton and then after that it’s onto Cardiff and then Blackburn and Huddersfield before we go into the break.

“We have an opportunity these next four games to make sure we have enough points so that we can talk further about next season.

“We have points to get and we have games to win. I’m going to do my job and focus on winning.”

Bolton are one of the contenders to be relegated this season from the Championship, and Evans will be hoping that his side manage to get the much needed three points against the Trotters tomorrow at Elland Road.
