Leeds United legend Eddie Gray feels the club will face a number of problems ahead of the new campaign if they don’t finish the current season on a strong note.
The Whites are confident of staying up after garnering 38 points, but their season has taken a turn for the worse over the last month or so as they have won just once in their last eleven Championship games.
Their latest low point came in their 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Brighton on Monday night, and Gray feels that it is crucial that Leeds pick up form to end the season on a strong note.
He believes that the Whites need to give something to the fans towards the end of the campaign so that they can tempt them back at the start of the new season, and has also conceded that Elland Road will become lesser of an attraction for new players if their season ends on a whimper.
The Leeds legend said on LUTV: “It is very important that we finish the season well for a number of reasons.

“[Firstly] for the confidence of the football club, and to keep the crowd happy; it is going to be important from the view of selling season tickets, so we need some encouragement for the fans.
“If we finish the season on a dampener, firstly it becomes more difficult to attract players to the football club, and then you are chasing the fans all the time, to try to encourage them to come back to the turnstiles.”
Leeds are hoping to spread some spring cheer at Elland Road with a win over Bolton Wanderers later today.
