Leeds United boss Steve Evans has revealed that full-back Lewie Coyle will miss tomorrow's match against Cardiff City with an ankle injury.

The youngster, a product of Leeds' youth academy, was forced to leave the field on a stretcher following a collision with Bolton's Jay Spearing in the Whites' 2-1 win over the Trotters on Saturday.




The extent of the injury is yet to be assessed as the 20-year-old will undergo scans on his ankle before anything more is revealed.

Evans though insists that Coyle will definitely miss tomorrow's game, but also revealed that it is "more of a seven-day injury" and expects the full-back to be back for their game against Blackburn Rovers next Saturday.
 


“Coyley is going to miss the game", Evans said to his club's official site.

"He’s got some bruising coming out and we’re thoughtful that it’s more of a seven-day injury.

"He may even be fit for Blackburn."

The match against Bolton was only the starlet's third Championship start for the club having made his senior bow for the Whites in 2015.

Coyle, who joined the Peacocks as a youngster in 2004 began to regularly train with the first team earlier this year.

He has managed an overall seven appearances for the Whites. And Coyle also spent time with Harrogate Town on loan.
