Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that it is not easy for Harry Kane to play with a mask.

The striker, who has been wearing the protective gear since breaking his nose in a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in an FA Cup game last month, scored a sublime goal in his side’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

It was Kane’s first goal since finding the back of the net in a 2-1 win over Manchester City in a league game in mid-February.

And Pochettino, who feels the strike against Arsenal will boost Kane’s confidence, insisted it is vital for Spurs that the 22-year-old returns to his goalscoring best.

“I think it's good point to lift him and his confidence”, he was quoted as saying by ITV.

“It's important for the team that Harry has started to score again.

“I have confidence in him. Harry has a strong mentality and is a very good player and it's true to play with the mask isn't easy.

“But I think this was a big opportunity to score and show he is back and it's important for him and the team.”

Kane, who has progressed through Tottenham’s youth system, has thus far scored 20 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions for the club in the present campaign.

He also has eight caps and three goals for England to his name.
