Rangers midfielder Jason Holt has explained that his side’s 4-0 thumping of Dundee in a Scottish Cup game at the weekend showed what they are capable of doing.

Goals from Harry Forrester, Holt, Andy Halliday and Lee Wallace against the Scottish Premiership club extended Rangers’ undefeated streak to 14 games in all competitions, with the Gers winning 12 of those.

In addition, the win also helped Mark Warburton’s team to set up a Scottish Cup semi-final meeting with their arch-rivals Celtic on 16th April.

And Holt, who felt Rangers’ display against Dundee was their “strongest” in the present campaign, insisted that Celtic will take note of his side’s strong performances against teams from the top flight this season.

“I think that we showed people what we are capable of”, he told Rangers TV.

“It was one of our strongest performances of the season, we’ve shown what we are capable of in other games this season, but I think that was probably the strongest.

“After the game we were really happy with how the performance went.

“When we play a side from the Premiership they won’t have played against us before, but I think that they know we are a good squad and what we are capable of.

“I think we showed that against Dundee on Saturday at Ibrox.”

Rangers, who are currently 12 points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship standings with a game in hand, also edged out Scottish Premiership opponents Kilmarnock 2-1 in a fifth round Scottish Cup replay last month.
