Lazio have requested information about Newcastle United flop Florian Thauvin as they consider a move for the Frenchman.
Thauvin only joined Newcastle last summer from French giants Marseille, however he was loaned back to the Stade Velodrome outfit in the winter transfer window this year after struggling badly at St. James' Park.
Marseille are keen to keep Thauvin, but cannot currently afford to do so, and other clubs are now eyeing a potential move for the 23-year-old winger.
According to Sky Italia, Lazio have asked for information about Thauvin's availability, wage demands and asking price, as they weigh up a deal.
Newcastle are claimed to be looking for arojnd €13m to €14m for the Frenchman, whose salary is €1.8m per year.
Thauvin has asked the Magpies to sell him this summer as he has no intention of playing in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League.
He featured on a regular basis in France following his return to Ligue 1 with Marseille earlier this year.
