Former Celtic striker John Hartson has mocked Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha for saying he has the best squad in Scotland, with the Welshman watching on as the Gers could only draw 2-2 away at Partick Thistle.

Rangers did take the lead in the game through Alfredo Morelos in the 19th minute, but eventually found themselves pegged back when Blair Spittal's free-kick in the 50th minute took a deflection and beat Wes Foderingham.

Matters got worse for Rangers when Chris Erskine struck ten minutes later, making it 2-1 for the home side.

But just seven minutes later Erskine was sent off and Rangers claimed a point when Graham Dorrans curled in an effort with 13 minutes left.

During the course of the game Hartson hit out at Caixinha's repeated claims that he has the best squad in Scottish football.

Packing his message with laughing emojis, Hartson wrote on Twitter: "Best squad in Scotland."

He then welcomed Partick Thistle taking a point against Rangers, with the Gers having been widely tipped to take the spoils at Firhill.

Hartson wrote: "Well done the 10 men!!"

The point has taken Rangers up to third in the Scottish Premiership standings, but they have now played a game more than every other side apart from Partick Thistle.
