Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen admits he studied how the Whites played under Garry Monk last season and quickly saw something he wanted to change.
Monk was lauded for his work at Elland Road last term, but Leeds collapsed late in the season to finish seventh and miss out on securing a top six playoff spot in the Championship.
The former Swansea boss left in the summer and took over at Middlesbrough, being succeeded by Christiansen.
Christiansen admits he studied the Whites' performances last term ahead of taking the job as he knew little about the players at the club.
And he quickly saw something he wanted to change as he feels Monk's tactics left former striker Chris Wood alone up top, with support not arriving quick enough; Leeds now have Pierre-Michel Lasogga as their target man.

Christiansen also spotted a lack of confidence when going forward.
"I didn't know too much about the players in the squad. I had to see them in different games", Christiansen said at a press conference.
"It was clear that I didn't see a team in that moment who had the confidence in themselves to have an offensive play.
"It was a little bit more direct play to Chris Wood and I found him a little bit alone up front.
"When you have direct play [to the target man] you have to have players close to take the second ball – and they were too far away", he added.
Christiansen has already been dubbed a more attack minded boss than Monk, but Leeds have still managed to keep clean sheets in their last six league games.
