Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen says that striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga is available for Saturday's trip to face Millwall.

The German striker has been in fine form for the Whites after joining on a season-long loan deal, but there have continued to be doubts about his availability before every game as his partner is expecting a baby.

But Christiansen has revealed that, despite the baby not being born yet, as things stand Lasogga is ready to play in the Championship game at the Den.

"Yes [he’s available]", Christiansen said at a press conference.

"The baby is still not here, but Pierre is here", he added.

Christiansen also provided an update on injured defender Matthew Pennington, explaining the loanee is close to returning, but the midweek EFL Cup tie at Burnley will come too soon for the centre-back.

"He's very close.

"Difficult [for EFL Cup], but for the next league game he could probably be there", the Leeds boss added.

And injury fears over another defender, Liam Cooper, were eased by the Whites boss, who confirmed a back issue but says the problem has now been resolved.

"He had a problem in the back, but he's much better now", Christiansen said.

Leeds currently sit top of the Championship table after seven games and Christiansen will want his men to pick up another three points away at Millwall on Saturday.
