Jose Mourinho has conceded that he is not in a position to rest Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku despite his poor run of form.
Lukaku has not scored in Manchester United’s last eight games in all competitions and is without a goal at Old Trafford since March.
His lack of goals have taken a toll on his confidence and the Belgian looked woefully out of form during Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat at home to Juventus on Tuesday night.
Mourinho conceded that Lukaku’s confidence levels have taken a serious beating because of his lack of goals, but the Belgian retains the confidence of the Manchester United manager.

The Portuguese is confident that the striker will soon break his duck and get some of his confidence back in front of goal.
Asked if he feels Lukaku will soon get a goal, Mourinho said in a press conference: “I always feel, I always feel that every game.
“One day will be and one day he will score and one day his confidence levels will be back to normal, which clearly they are not there.
“But I always feel that.”
The Manchester United boss also conceded that he is not in a position to take Lukaku out of the firing line and give him a break.
“We are not in the best situation to try to think about resting players or try to find solutions.
"The solution is to play the players we have.”
The Belgian will have a golden opportunity to get back to goalscoring form when he faces his old side Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday.
