Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has claimed that the Reds are tactically more flexible under Jurgen Klopp now and admits he is delighted with their defensive solidity.
The Merseyside giants cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in their Champions League Group C clash at Anfield on Wednesday.
Klopp was forced to deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation for the first time this season and the change in shape worked wonders for summer-signing Fabinho and Mohamed Salah, who bagged a brace from a central role.
The unavailability of Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita was one of the reasons why Liverpool decided to alter their shape but the gamble paid dividends as they took full control of the game.

Firmino, who scored the opening goal for Liverpool on the night, believes the Reds are not only tactically flexible, but also importantly are solid in defence.
“They’re two different tactics”, Firmino told the club’s official website.
“The 4-3-3 is more focused on pressing, and we played with this formation for basically the whole of last season.
“We tested out a new formation in the last game and it went well, as we won.
"The midfield was more cohesive but also had more space, and it turned out well, and both tactics are good for us.
“We have only conceded three [league goals], which shows that we’re really tight at the back, and that we’re always really solid.
“I hope we can carry on like this until the end of the season.”
Liverpool will next face newly-promoted Cardiff City at Anfield on Saturday in the Premier League.
