Jon Flanagan has conceded that it would be a huge achievement and a big step forward for Rangers if they reach the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday.
A 0-0 draw at home to Spartak Moscow on Thursday night kept Rangers at the top of their Europa League group at the end of three games.
Rangers will turn their attention towards Sunday’s League Cup semi-final clash against Aberdeen at Hampden Park and Flanagan admits it is going to be a massive game for the club and the players.
The Rangers full-back feels it will be a huge boost for the players, the fans and the club if such a young side reach the final of the domestic cup competition in their first season under a new manager in Steven Gerrard.

However, he indicated that the players must keep their focus and put in a performance against Aberdeen.
Speaking about the League Cup semi-final, the defender told Rangers TV: “It is massive now.
“We have got this game out of the way with a point on the board and now all the focus is to recover and we go again on Sunday.
“It’s massive that we win down there and get to the final.”
He continued: “It would mean a lot to everyone – to the manager, the players and the fans.
“As I said we are fresh and it will be a big achievement, but we need to get past Aberdeen on Sunday.”
