Inter are considering inserting a release clause in a proposed new contract for Manchester City and Manchester United defensive target Milan Skriniar.
The Slovakian defender’s performances last season led to speculation over his future at Inter and Manchester United and Manchester City were interested in taking him to England in the summer.
Inter managed to convince the player to continue in Italy and the club have been working hard for several months to get the defender to sign a new contract with the Nerazzurri.
The Premier League pair remain interested in the player, but Inter are pushing forward with their agenda of tying Skriniar down to a new and improved contract as soon as possible.

And according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the Serie A giants are considering offering to include a high release clause in the centre-back’s proposed new deal as part of the negotiations, though they would prefer to avoid it.
The clause would only be expected to be applicable for clubs outside Italy and it is expected to be around or more than the world record defender fee Liverpool paid to sign Virgil van Dijk.
Inter are expected to open fresh contacts with the defender’s representatives next week as they look to get closer to the salary demands for the Slovakia international.
Skriniar is aware of the interest he has been attracting and is said to be asking for wages around the €3m per year mark.
