Former Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen has conceded that Sam Allardyce had no interest in hearing what he had to say when he was on Merseyside.

Ronald Koeman signed the midfielder from Ajax in the summer of 2017 for big money, but the current Netherlands boss was sacked after a dreadful start to the season and Allardyce took charge of the side.

Klaassen became a fringe player at Everton under the former England manager, playing very little football and he eventually left for Werder Bremen last summer.

The midfielder revealed that he had very little communication with the former Everton manager and distinctly remembers that he only spoke three times with Allardyce.

He also indicated that any further talks would have been fruitless as Allardyce had little interest in what he had to say.

“I only spoke to him three times in his office”, the midfielder was quoted as saying by Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur.

“And a certain point it was something like – whatever I say, it wouldn’t interest him.”

Klaassen has rekindled his career in Germany and has scored two goals and has as many assists to his name in eleven appearances this season for Werder Bremen.
