Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has gushed after scoring his first Premier League goal for the Reds in their 2-0 away win against Wolves on Friday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side opened up a four-point lead over closest title rivals Manchester City as goals from Mohamed Salah and Van Dijk sealed a more or less comfortable win for the Reds.

Van Dijk has been a key cog in the Liverpool defence this season and has started in all 18 league games for Reds.

Liverpool’s win against Wolves was also their 11th clean sheet of the season, the highest in the league so far this term.

The Dutchman took to Twitter to congratulate his team-mates for the big win and the clean sheet, and also revealed his delight after getting on the scoresheet.

“Another big win and a clean sheet!

“Great feeling scoring my first Premier League goal for Liverpool too, see you on Boxing Day”, Van Dijk wrote on Twitter.

Liverpool will now begin their recovery for their next game against Newcastle United on Boxing Day before two tough clashes against Arsenal and Manchester City.
