West Ham United attacker Marko Arnautovic has admitted the Hammers fully expect to beat Birmingham City in the FA Cup and progress in a competition he feels they can win.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been drawn against Garry Monk's Birmingham in the third round of the FA Cup, and they will hope to go deep in the competition.

West Ham famously made the final of the cup competition in 2006, but lost Liverpool on penalties after an entertaining game.

Arnautovic has admitted that cup games are never straight forward, but insists that the team will give everything on the pitch when they face Birmingham in January and do expect to get the job done.

The Austrian told West Ham United’s official website: “Yeah, we can win the FA Cup!

“We want to go as far as we can in the FA Cup. It’s a big cup and, of course, we want to try to win it.

“We expect to go through in the third round and we will constantly try to give everything.

“It’s not easy to win games, especially not in the cup.

"All of the teams are in there and it’s going to be very hard.

“Even against Birmingham, they are doing quite well in the Championship, and it’s never an easy game.

"Always, crazy things happen, but we will see!”

West Ham had turned their season around with four wins on the trot, before their recent 2-0 defeat against Watford on Saturday.

Pellegrini’s side will hope to bounce back when they take on Southampton in their penultimate game of the year on Thursday.
