Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has conceded that his side had their share of luck in getting the win over Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day.

The game seemed lost when Charlie Mulgrew scored in the 90th minute to give Blackburn a 2-1 lead at Elland Road but there was huge drama awaiting during stoppage time.

Kemar Roofe scored a brace in injury time to earn an unlikely win for Leeds as they managed to stretch their run of victories to seven games and are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table.

Klich feels the unlikely comeback from Leeds in stoppage time showed that his side know how to go until the final minutes to make sure that they get the desired result.

However, he also admits that luck played part in Leeds getting the win despite the quality players they have in their squad.

The Leeds midfielder said on LUTV: “We never give up or surrender.

“We want to win every game and we fight until the end. We were very lucky as well.

“Of course we have good quality players, but you need luck as well and I think today we had the luck.”

A 3-3 draw between Norwich and Nottingham Forest mean Leeds are now three points clear at the top of the league table.
