Eddie Gray has insisted that Hull City were one of the in-form sides in the Championship going into Saturday’s clash against Leeds United.

Leeds’ seven-game winning run came to a screeching halt at Elland Road on Saturday when Hull picked up a 2-0 win over the Whites and pulled off a shock result.

The Whites remained three points clear at the top of the league table after Norwich suffered late heartbreak against Derby County at home in the late kick off.

Hull themselves stretched their undefeated streak to seven games with the win and Gray was quick to point out that the Tigers are one of the in-form sides in the Championship.

The Leeds legend admits that Hull looked confident coming into the game and managed to curb Leeds’ attacking threats during the clash.

The former midfielder said on LUTV: “What you have got to remember is that we were on a great run, so were Hull City.

“They probably have the second best form in the league, barring us and Norwich City in recent games.

“They came into the game with a lot of confidence and you could sense that.

"They even took their top player off towards the end.

“They defended very well and committed us to knocking balls into the box from deep areas, and that always suits defenders and goalkeepers.”

Leeds will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Nottingham Forest.
