Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban is sure that he made the right choice in joining the Turkish side on loan from Leeds United.

Ekuban joined Trabzonspor in a season-long loan deal during the summer after a tough first season with Leeds.

The 24-year old has scored three goals in 12 Turkish Super Lig appearances so far this season, which is a better return than he managed at Elland Road.

Ekuban’s had an unfortunate start at Leeds as he suffered a metatarsal fracture and missed a major part of the first half of the 2017/18 season.

The Ghanaian managed a sustained run in the first team during the season half of the season, but scored just once in 20 games.

Ekuban was subsequently loaned out to Trabzonspor, and the striker feels he is reaping the rewards of the switch to Turkey.

“The decision I made was the correct one”, Ekuban was quoted as saying by Turkish daily Sabah.

“I'm greatly valued at Trabzonspor.

“My [loan] contract ends at the end of the season, but the club do not want me to go.

“It's really good that I came to Trabzon.”

Trabzonspor are currently second in the Turkish league and are six points behind league leaders Basaksehir.

It remains to be seen if they will look to try to keep Ekuban on a permanent basis when his loan runs out.
