Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has urged his team-mates to take the goalscoring pressure off Eden Hazard after the Blues’ 0-0 draw against Southampton on Wednesday.

The Saints frustrated Chelsea, who had 17 shots in total compared to Southampton’s six, and the stalemate reduced Chelsea’s lead over their nearest rivals Arsenal by two points.

Hazard has featured in a false nine role for the Blues in recent games, but returned to his favoured role on the left as Maurizio Sarri opted for Alvaro Morata centrally.

The west London outfit could not breach a much-improved Southampton defence under Ralph Hasenhuttl as they failed to take their chances.

Kante admitted that the team create a lot of chances, but need to take them and stop relying on just Hazard to put the ball in the back of the net.

“We all know Eden is a fantastic player, he’s helped us a lot during this season and the seasons before”, Kante told Chelsea’s official website.

“He can make the difference at any time, but we need to count on everyone.

“We created chances that we missed.

“It’s a difficult moment but we need to bounce back.”

Hazard is Chelsea’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with ten goals, but has failed to score in his last two league games.
