Nottingham Forest are in touch with former Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo with a view to appointing him as their new director of football.

The pressure on Aitor Karanka has lifted since Nottingham Forest beat league leaders Leeds United 4-2 on New Year's Day, but the club are still keen to restructure behind the scenes.




The Forest owners are not said to be happy with the way the club have spent their money in the last few transfer windows and are looking to bring in someone to oversee their recruitment.

Appointing a new director football is believed to be a priority for Nottingham Forest and it has been claimed that they have already sounded out someone for that role.
 


According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Championship club are eyeing former Marseille deal-maker Anigo as their new director of football.

And it has been claimed that the Forest hierarchy have been in talks with the former Marseille director about his possible arrival to the City Ground.

The Frenchman is available after he left Greek side Panionios in December and is said to be considering the offer from the Championship club.
