Belgian outfit Gent are closing in on the loan signing of Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth.

The 23-year-old striker has been a bit part player at Crystal Palace this season and has not made a single start in the Premier League for the Eagles.

His only goal in the current campaign came in the EFL Cup and the club have been prepared to let him leave in January in pursuit of more regular football in the latter half of the season.

The Norwegian striker joined Crystal Palace from FC Midtjylland in January last year, but after spending a year at Selhurst Park he is set to move to Belgium on a temporary deal.

Gent have been in advanced talks with Crystal Palace for the signature of Sorloth and he is due in Spain for a medical today, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

The Belgian outfit are looking to sign him on a loan deal until the end of the season and the negotiations have been moving at a brisk pace.
