Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele has flown out of the country to finalise his transfer to Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan, according to Football London.

The Belgian is expected to sign a lucrative contract to ply his trade in China, while Tottenham will earn a fee from his departure.

Dembele has just six months remaining on his contract and has of late been out of action through injury.

The 31-year old is recovering from an ankle injury, and his departure is likely to leave a hole in the squad as he has been an important player under Mauricio Pochettino.

Since joining the club from Fulham in 2012, Dembele has gone on to make 249 appearances for the Lilywhites.

Dembele featured for Belgian side in the 2018 World Cup, and helped the team finish third in what was their best performance in the quadrennial event.

The move will further strengthen the Beijing Guoan side who already have Renato Augusto, Cedric Bakambu and Jonathan Viera in their squad.
