Bordeaux sporting director Hugo Varela has identified a minimum asking price for Watford wing target Francois Kamano this month.

The 22-year-old winger’s future has come under consideration in the winter window due to interest from several clubs in France and the Premier League.

Bordeaux have already rejected a bid worth €13m from Ligue 1 giants Monaco and Watford are reportedly preparing to table an offer for the player in the coming days.

The bid from the Hornets is expected to be around €17m, but Varela stressed that the offer would not be enough to take Kamano out of Bordeaux in the January window.

He insisted that the club do not have to sell the player and indicated an offer north of €30m would be needed if a club want to sign the winger this month.

“It is just speculation, no one has contacted us from them [Watford]”, Varela told French sports daily L’Equipe.

“We do not need or want to sell him, let alone at that price.

“If he leaves, it should be €30m minimum.”

The Guinea winger has scored eleven goals this season with Bordeaux and has a contract until 2021 with the club.
