The 23-year-old, who has netted twice in the league for Rangers this season, has attracted interest from Premier League newcomers Leeds.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have made a bid for Kent, which Rangers rejected, and could come back in with a second offer for the winger.
Speaking ahead of Rangers’ league game against Kilmarnock, centre-back Goldson reiterated the winger’s importance to the team, labelling him a ‘massive asset’.
The 27-year-old went on to make it clear that the Glasgow outfit do not intend to let Kent leave this summer.
“Ryan Kent has a lot of ability, it is not nice when he runs at you, even in training!“, Goldson told a press conference.
“He can still add numbers to his game but he is a massive asset to us and we want to keep Ryan Kent here.
“You can see the benefit with a full pre-season behind him.“
Goldson also addressed the competition in the centre-back department at Rangers by asserting that he enjoys playing alongside each of his fellow defenders.
“Now at the club, we have five really good centre-halfs, unfortunately, Niko [Katic] is injured at the moment but no matter who I am alongside I trust them all“, Goldson stated.
While Rangers have rejected Leeds’ initial offer, it remains to be seen if the Yorkshire-based club will return with an improved bid which moves the dial on the transfer saga.
