The 24-year-old Frenchman starred in the Championship club’s push for promotion to the Premier League last season, which came to a halt after losing to Fulham in the playoff final.

Mbeumo found the back of the net 15 times and provided assists for eight goals from his 42 league appearances for Thomas Frank’s side last term.

The winger also scored in the second leg of the Bees’ playoff semi-final against Swansea City, which saw them make a comeback to win 3-2 over two legs.

While Brentford ultimately missed out on going up, Mbeumo’s performances for the club have not gone unnoticed, with the player now attracting interest from the top flight, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

Leicester, who finished fifth in the Premier League last campaign, are interested in signing Mbeumo this summer and believe that he has the qualities to fit into their style of play.

The prospect of playing in Europe could make the 21-year-old winger consider the Foxes as an attractive option.

It remains to be seen how much Leicester would be willing to pay Brentford, if they are to make a move for Mbeumo.
