Everton have been working on the deal to sign Allan for several weeks and broad agreement is in place between the Merseyside club and Napoli over his potential transfer.

The 29-year-old is keen to reunite with Carlo Ancelotti at Everton and a €30m deal is expected to be ratified at the start of next month.

But it has been claimed that Juventus are preparing to barge into the negotiations and put in their own offer to sign Allan this summer.

According to Italian daily La Stampa, the Serie A champions are prepared to offer a player plus cash deal to Napoli to tempt them into selling Allan to them.

Juventus are ready to offer €15m to Napoli and send 22-year-old centre-back Cristian Romero to the San Paolo as part of a potential deal to sign Allan.

The Brazilian fits coach Andrea Pirlo’s plans and the Juventus boss is looking to bring in a player of his qualities this summer.

Juventus’ entry into the race could turn Allan’s head.

And it remains to be seen whether Allan remains committed to the idea of joining Everton with Juventus entering the race.
