Garcia has refused to sign a new contract at Manchester City and wants to return to Barcelona after spending three years at the Etihad.
The teenage defender has communicated his desire to the Manchester City hierarchy and Barcelona are working on a deal to take the youngster back to the club ahead of next month’s deadline.
Manchester City have identified an asking price of €25m for Garcia and believe that is a fair price for a young player of his talent.
However, according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are in no mood to spend that kind of sum on their former academy talent.
It has been claimed that Barcelona do not want to offer more than €15m to take Garcia back to the Nou Camp in the ongoing transfer window.
Barcelona’s finances have taken a hit this year due to the changed football landscape and they are trying to balance the books.
However, they are calm about the situation as Garcia has made it clear that he only wants to join Barcelona this year.
And with his contract running down, Manchester City will have to sell him now or watch him leave on a free transfer next summer.
