Toffees new boy James Rodriguez has added to the creative quality of Ancelotti’s midfield, which already boasted the likes of Andre Gomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bernard.

So far Everton have scored 14 goals in four outings, knocking the ball past the opposition shot-stopper ten times just in their last two matches alone.

However, the Italian has backed his forwards to score even more goals as he believes the creativity that his team possess in the middle of the park will present ample opportunities for the attacking line to exploit in front of the opposition goal.

Ancelotti urged his forwards to take their games further up a notch, while revealing that both his first-choice strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have set a 20-goal targets for themselves.

“I hope he [Calvert-Lewin] can reach the target of 20 goals”, Ancelotti told a press conference.

“Behind them we have James, Andre Gomes, Sigurdsson.

“Our strikers have to be happy. Bernard, also, an assist man.

“They are comfortable.

“If they don’t score at least 20 goals each, they have a problem with me.

“With James in Madrid, [Cristiano] Ronaldo scored 56 goals.

“I’m honestly not going to ask Dominic to score 56, but he has to try to do his best”

Everton are set to visit Selhurst Park at the weekend to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League and the Toffees will hope to extend their winning streak to five games, having started the current season with four wins on the trot in all competitions.
