Pereira has not been part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans this season and the club have been keen to move on the Brazilian before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Manchester United have a deal in place for Pereira to join Lazio on a season-long loan and the midfielder is set to tie up the switch.

Lazio have also reserved an option to make the move permanent next year for a transfer fee of €27m.

During is loan stint the two clubs will be sharing the burden of his wages but Lazio will be paying more than half of Pereira’s salary.

Manchester United have managed to work out an agreement that will see them shift more than 50 per cent of the midfielder’s wages off their books at least for this season.

The Premier League giants are hopeful that he will do enough in Italy to earn a permanent deal at Lazio next year.

Manchester United are looking to shift more players out before Monday’s transfer deadline, while they continue to chase Jadon Sancho.
